Geoffrey Beene, Inc. was founded by Geoffrey Beene in 1963. He was one of the most famous fashion designers in New York recognized for his artistic and technical skills for crafting a simple yet comfortable and dressy clothings for women. Beene's prominent clients are well known individual, the US's first lady from 1981 to 1989, nancy Reagan and actresses Glenn Close and Faye Dunaway. His first fragrance, Grey Flannel for men was launched in 1975 and the newest was in 1998. The Council of Fashion Designers of America honored his legacy by creating the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Green beene Inc, now The Geoffrey Beene LLC managed to stay in the business even after his passing and managed to set up foundation and several charitable organization.
