Ramon Ayala Rodriguez alias Daddy Yankee is a Puerto Rican Reggaeton songwriter, singer and actor born in 1977. As a kid, Ayala harbored dreams of becoming a professional baseball player, but he was hit by a stray bullet on the hip just when he was doing his trials, cutting short his dream. After the incident, Daddy Yankee focused on his music, releasing his first album, No Mercy, aged 18. This was followed by 2 mix tapes, El Cartel and El Cartel II between 1997 and 2011. In 2002 he had the big break of his career as his 2002 album, El Cangri.com, gained international success and a huge following across the US and was among the top 50 albums on the Top Latin Albums Billboard.
